Getting to Know You(Tube)
Getting To Know You(Tube) was created by artists Crystal Baxley and Stefan Ransom in 2011 and was at one time a monthly event at the Hollywood Theater. Boathouse Microcinema was the last torch holder of the series in pre-pandemic times and we are happy to put on this throwback event! At GTKYT, three presenters give 20 minute presentations about their favorite YouTube rabbit holes. Tonight’s presenters will be:
Juliyen Davis is a technologist, designer, and writer from Washington. He is the author of A Kids Book About Power published by DK, among other books, zines, essays, and narrative projects made with office, nothing, pink essay, and painter Austin Lee.

Natalie Jane Edson is a queer writer working at the intersection of experimental digital poetics and lyric exploration of the mundane. Her chapbook, BALACLAVA, was released in 2019 and her experimental digital project HELIX was released in 2022. She spends a lot of time hanging out with her pets and staring at the ceiling.

VM Zellers is a therapist who lives in Portland with her pet hedgehog. Her current creative project is miniature object photography, which you can follow on Instagram at @miniaturedemure. She was slated to deliver a Getting To Know You(Tube) presentation at Boathouse Microcinema in April 2020, but it was canceled due to COVID lockdown. Five and a half years later, she’s delighted to finally be able to show and discuss her favorite YouTube rabbit hole.
