Film Diary 4: Go to the Mountains and Pray (Satellite Screening)

Film Diary 4: Go to the Mountains and Pray is the 4th installment of Film Diary NYC’s festival of experimental, autobiographical films that capture the personal history and daily experiences of the filmmaker.  This satellite screening presents a selection of new films by artists from China, France, Iran, and the United States.  Julie Perini of the Portland Diary Summit will introduce the films.

The program includes work by Cameron Granger who presented a solo exhibition, Slay the Goblin!!!, at the Center for Contemporary Art and Culture at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, curated by Marsha Mack, this past fall 2025.  The program also includes new work by interdisciplinary performance artist and film scholar Jalen Thompson, whose work screened at the Portland Diary Summit 2024 screening at Hollywood Theater.

Through an annual festival and ongoing special events, Film Diary NYC provides a platform for the most heartfelt but most overlooked cinema: diary films, home movies, and personal documentary.

Program includes:
E. Jane – Skinny Dipping, 8 min
Fatemeh Kazemi – Poor Knee; [Loose Tongue]; Trigger Finger, 12 min
Cameron A. Granger – Just Below Heaven, 9 min
