Monear Shaer – Gaza Is Our home
Monear Shaer is traveling from Florida with his documentary that covers his experience with the genocide in Gaza and serves as a rousing call to action.
Inspired by an auto-generated slideshow on his phone of his trip to his family’s homeland in Gaza in 2021, Shaer felt an obligation to produce a film about his experiences. After losing over 33 loved ones, Monear created and has been sharing this powerful film with communities across the country, to honor their memory and to reveal the beauty, strength, and resilience of all who call Gaza home. The documentary moves beyond the complexities of geopolitics and manages to display intimate family moments behind the headlines, showing a side of Gaza never before seen in the mainstream media.
Monear Shaer graduated from USF Class of 2020 with a double major in Marketing and Finance. He has spent most of his life pursuing a career as a videographer and digital media expert. His love of videography dates back to his high school years. Throughout his career, Monear has remained dedicated to his craft, leveraging his skills to empower local businesses and communities. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality, he has spent several years producing digital content that captured the essence of the Emerald Coast lifestyle.
